Hotel Marcel Becomes Country's First Net-Zero Hotel

You've heard of net-zero homes. How about a net-zero hotel?

With over 1000 solar panels and a boutique style, Hotel Marcel generates its own energy for hundreds of guests and becomes the country's first net-zero hotel.

The hotel has a historic and legendary past, according to architect and developer Bruce Becker. He spent several years working on the hotel redevelopment plan. He hopes that this development will set a precedent for future hotel buildings to switch to a net-zero energy standard.

"Maybe the largest and most important sustainability feature is the fact that we're recycling and entire building, and one that—because of its architectural legacy—really needs to be recycled." — Bruce Becker
